What I’m Feeding Myself (and my dog) in 2026

By Kelley Marian, Founder of Green Juju

Every new year, I feel an unavoidable pull to reset. Not in a “new year, new me” way, but in a check in ‘what actually makes me feel good?’ kind of way.

For me, the answer always comes back to whole foods — both for the meals on my plate and the food in my dog’s bowl. You can’t go wrong with real, fresh ingredients that feel alive and nourishing, especially after the indulgence and chaos of the holidays. I’ve learned that when I keep things simple and intentional, my body responds, and so does my dog.

How It Started

This way of feeding didn’t start as a brand idea or a product line. It started as a very personal decision I made years ago for my yellow lab, Bailey.

When Bailey got sick, conventional treatment paths weren’t a viable option for her. So I turned to what I was already finding helpful in my own life: fresh food, whole ingredients, and an integrative approach to health. I transitioned her to a raw diet, added Chinese herbs and acupuncture, and began feeding her real, whole food. One of the very first things I made was a simple blend of leafy greens - which closely mimicked the green juice I made every morning. .

That little bowl of veggies became Just Greens Blend… and eventually, Green Juju.

What that experience taught me has shaped how I feed my pets to this day. Dogs and cats thrive on a whole-food bowl. Fresh, quality protein forms the base, and thoughtfully chosen plants are added in to round out the nutrient profile and support the body as a whole.

That’s where our Frozen & Freeze Dried Veggie Blends come in.

A scoop mixed into the bowl adds fiber, antioxidants, and phytonutrients that pets don’t get anywhere else. These plants uniquely support the microbiome which is the foundation for health and longevity. Our intentional recipes help boost digestion, fortify detox pathways, reduce inflammation, and bring balance to immune health. It’s the easiest way to bring more variety and life into the bowl without overthinking it .

How It’s Going

Just Greens Blend, the very first recipe I ever made for Bailey, is still one of the most meaningful things I’ve created. When it comes to creating nourishing food, for ourselves and our pets, there’s an alchemy between ingredients and intuition. From the very first batch, the scent of fresh greens and herbs filling the kitchen felt like the definition of health. It was one of those rare moments where you just know you’re on the right path.

It’s a simple mix of organic leafy greens, herbs, and functional ingredients like turmeric, ginger, and bison bone broth, all intentionally chosen to support gut health and overall vitality. With low carbs and zero fillers, it’s gentle, nutrient-dense, and easy to use. I also love rotating between our veggie blends to offer a broader range of nutrient support, without complicating mealtime.

As we ease into this new year, I’m doing what I know feels right for me, my body, and my dog: keeping things real, feeding fresh, and adding a little more life to the bowl.

If you’re feeling that wintertime heaviness too, I’d start right there. Add a scoop of veggies. Mix it into what you’re already feeding. Add some color. See how they respond. You really can’t go wrong with real food!

Ready to Add More Life to the Bowl?

Just Greens Blend is where Green Juju began, and it’s still one of the best ways to bring more whole-food goodness into your pet’s routine. It’s an easy, gentle way to add freshness, variety, and intention to the bowl, whether you’re new to fresh feeding or simply ready to lean into what’s next.

Here’s to fresh bowls, happy pets, and the everyday magic of real, whole foods.
